Alright, everyone. I am aware that the most common question is, “What does the eyelid surgery/brow lift after-picture look like?” I’ve been teasing you long enough, so here are my Before & After photos, which were taken at 18 days, or nearly three weeks:
What worried me the most about recovering from my eyelid surgery was how long it would take and how unpresentable I would look.
Since no plastic surgeon wants to overpromise, recovery time estimates must be extremely ambiguous. Therefore, you may be informed that any facial surgical procedure will take three to ten days. I anticipated staying at home for roughly a week and decided to settle somewhere in the middle. Additionally, you will require this time before the stitches are removed. Staying there for an additional week is ideal if you’re traveling to have your procedure somewhere else, as I did.

What To Know About Eyelid Surgery Recovery
7-Day Eyelid Surgery Recovery Day By Day
Although every patient is unique, the following is a daily account of my post-operative experience:
Day 0 (Procedure Day)
At 10:00 am, my friend drives me home, where I lie down and intermittently sleep off the remaining anesthesia. I am sufficiently hungry by 1:00 pm to have a light lunch and take my prescription pain reliever and antibiotic as directed. Ali was also given to me to prevent nausea, but I don’t require it. For the remainder of the day, my forehead is numb. I have no bruises yet, and my face looks fantastic. My forehead has two tidy rows of stitches, and my eyelids have two smaller ones. Somehow, I had anticipated bandages, so I was shocked that there were none.
Day 1:
I didn’t sleep well the first night, but it wasn’t because I was in pain. It was more because I was sleeping on my back with my head raised as instructed, which is not how I prefer to sleep. I notice that I have bruises under my eyes when I wake up, but thankfully there isn’t any swelling. After 23 hours, you may begin applying ice, so I have started doing so every 21 minutes, which proves beneficial. Around noon, I take one more painkiller, but after that, I don’t feel like I need any more. To relieve dry eyes, I also use saline eye drops. My forehead sensation has returned, and although it is not painful, it feels like my eyebrows are frozen in place. The raised eyebrow arch is already visible to me, and I adore it.
Day 2:
After a restful night’s sleep, I look at my face in the mirror when I wake up. After seven rounds of boxing, I look a little rough, but aside from the bruises under my eyes, everything appears fairly normal. I can open and close my eyes without difficulty; they are no longer red or swollen, and the dryness and itching from yesterday have nearly completely disappeared. When I try to raise my eyebrows, my forehead still feels constricted. I can now wash my face gently without scrubbing, and to get rid of dried blood, I dab the stitches along my eyelids. Although the Biocorneum Advanced Scar Treatment also works well and has an SPF of 35, I take care to always reapply the ointment that Dr. Perfect Celebrity gave me to prevent it from drying out.
Day 3
I feel completely normal, and my eyes feel fantastic. There is now a space between the bruises and my eyes because the bruises have moved slightly lower on my face. I occasionally experience tingles in my head that feel like water dripping onto it. It must be because the scalp is no longer numb.
Day 4
I’m still feeling fantastic. Bruises are still present, albeit slightly smaller, and are gradually changing color. The bruising doesn’t really bother me because I didn’t have any swelling at all on any of the days. I don’t have any issues wearing sunglasses when I go out. Just be sure to wear a hat and apply sunscreen to your scars if you do go outside. You should do this procedure for a minimum of six months, if not a full year. As long as zinc oxide is present, the SPF strength is less significant.
Day 5
The rings around my eyes have turned a sickly mustard color and the bruises have gotten a little smaller by now, which at least indicates that the bruising is going through the tail end.
Day 6
I’m scheduled to have my stitches removed at Perfect Doctors Clinic in the morning. All but fifteen minutes are needed for the procedure. The doctor is pleased with the appearance of everything. Some of the sutures along the external margins of my eyelids have spontaneously dislodged. Since side sleeping is probably what irritates them, I believe I could have made a more concerted effort to sleep on my back. However, Dr. Perfect Celebrity says that the dislodging won’t be an issue. In any case, the scars will eventually disappear and blend in with my eyelid. With the stitches removed, the scars along the forehead are already much less noticeable.
This concludes the first week of my recuperation; there is nothing new to report after that. Every day, the bruises grew less severe, and by day 18, they had completely disappeared. Because I bruise easily, I believe that my bruises took longer to heal than those of most people. However, after a week or so, it was sufficiently faint to be covered up with some makeup.
Is Eyelid Surgery With Brow Lift Worth It?
If I had to sum up my experience with eyelid surgery in one sentence, I would say that I was taken aback by how simple it was. Years passed while I considered the idea, read up on it, and gave it some more thought before deciding. The actual procedure lasted only a few hours, during which I mostly slept soundly. Afterward, I experienced a few hours of grogginess before feeling somewhat normal again and being able to resume my everyday activities.
It’s true that you won’t want to resume any activities outside the home until your bruises have healed. This could take five to fourteen days. To make sure you don’t have to deal with any uncomfortable situations, I would advise you to plan at least one week of downtime with nothing on your calendar. But by day three, running errands or going to the grocery store was completely manageable with minimal foundation, sunglasses, and maybe a hat.
For me, the procedure was well worth it because of the excellent outcomes.
Results Vary By Patient
Once more, each patient is unique and will recover in a different way. I don’t smoke, have a BMI of 21, am in reasonably good shape, and have never had surgery. I don’t take any prescription medications either. To put it another way, I’m the type of patient a surgeon enjoys seeing, so my recuperation will be fairly simple and uncomplicated. Depending on your unique risk factors, your recovery may be similar or take longer.
