Brazilian Butt Lift Recovery: Tips + What To Expect

Brazilian Butt Lift Recovery

The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is getting more and more popular. In 2016, more than 19,000 of these procedures were done in Dubai. The Brazilian Butt Lift uses fat from the patient to make their buttocks bigger and better shaped. Liposuction takes away extra fat from other parts of the body, usually the abdomen or thighs. The fat is then carefully injected into specific areas of the buttocks to give them a lift and shape.

This article answers some of the most common questions people have about Brazilian Butt Lift treatments.

Brazilian Butt Lift In Dubai

A Brazilian Butt Lift in Dubai is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to enhance the shape, size, and contour of the buttocks using the patient’s own fat. The procedure begins with liposuction to remove excess fat from areas like the abdomen, thighs, or flanks. The harvested fat is then purified and carefully injected into the buttocks to create a fuller, lifted, and more natural-looking shape. Unlike implants, BBL uses your own body tissue, reducing the risk of rejection and providing a soft, natural feel. In addition to enhancing the buttocks, the procedure improves overall body contours, balances proportions, and gives a youthful, sculpted silhouette. Recovery involves some swelling and downtime, but results are long-lasting with proper care and maintenance.

Butt Lift In Dubai

A butt lift in Dubai is a surgical procedure that aims to lift, firm, and improve the overall appearance of the buttocks. It can involve the removal of excess skin and fat, repositioning tissues, or using fat grafting to enhance volume and shape. Butt lifts address sagging or flattened buttocks, helping to create a perkier, more contoured look. Depending on the technique, the procedure can also improve the appearance of the lower back, hips, and thighs for a more harmonious silhouette. Patients achieve a youthful and lifted appearance that complements their body proportions. Recovery requires some downtime, but the results are long-lasting and can be combined with other body contouring procedures for enhanced results.

Pain & Discomfort

After surgery, a lot of patients will feel some pain and tenderness in the “harvest areas” where fat was taken out with liposuction. How bad the pain is depends on how much pain you can handle and the type of surgery you had. It’s also common for the areas around the injection sites on the buttocks to bruise and swell. Your surgeon can give you over-the-counter or prescription drugs to help with any pain you may have. Most patients will notice a big drop in their pain during the first week.

Fluid Draining

Most people who get a Brazilian Butt Lift will see fluid that has a little blood in it coming from cuts in their harvest area. Don’t worry! It is normal for extra fluid to drain from these incision points, and it may continue to do so for a few days after the procedure.

Sitting & Sleeping

Avoiding pressure on the buttocks until they are fully healed is the most important part of recovering from a Brazilian Butt Lift. Any pressure put on the area where the fat graft is going will slow down blood flow, which could hurt the fat grafts before they settle in and become stable. This could slow down healing and make the final result of your procedure worse.

After their procedure, I tell my patients not to sit or sleep on their backs. Patients should stay standing or lie on their sides or stomachs to rest instead. If the patient really needs to sit, they should use a “BBL pillow,” which is a special pillow that moves weight from the buttocks to the back of the thighs.

Compression Garments

After the surgery, your doctor will probably suggest that you wear a compression garment (or girdle) around the areas where liposuction was done. This is important to make sure that the areas where the crops were grown heal properly. Using compression clothing can help you heal faster and reduce swelling and pain. I like to put pressure on the areas where I harvest, but not on my buttocks.

Returning to Work

After having a Brazilian Butt Lift, patients should plan to be out of work for at least two to three weeks. Before you go back to work, we suggest that your surgeon give you the all-clear. Patients should think about using a standing desk until they are fully healed, since sitting is not a good idea.

Exercise

Patients should not do any kind of high-impact exercise until their surgeon says it’s okay. Doing hard exercise before you are completely healed could damage the fat that was moved. Most patients will be able to start doing light exercise, like walking quickly, again 2–4 weeks after the procedure. After about six weeks, the fat cells that were moved should be stable enough to handle more intense activities like running and biking.

Tips: Recovering from Brazilian Butt Lifts

  • Do what your surgeon tells you to do after surgery.
  • Go to all of your scheduled follow-up appointments at the office.
  • Stay away from pools and hot tubs until you are completely healed.
  • Stretch your legs often to help them heal and stop blood clots from forming.
  • Wear your compression garment as much as you can.
  • Sleep and rest a lot.
  • During recovery, eat healthy meals and drink a lot of water to stay hydrated.
  • Wear clothes that are loose.

What is the Recovery Time?

The initial days following your Brazilian butt lift procedure are frequently the most painful.

  • It is possible that your butt is bruised and swollen.
  • There is a possibility that your incisions may bleed slightly.
  • Fluid retention may occur in the vicinity of the affected areas.

Some individuals utilize either prescribed pain medication or over-the-counter acetaminophen to alleviate their discomfort. It is advisable to have a family member or friend assist you in caring for you if you are taking a prescription pain medication, as you should not be driving. As is customary, consult with your healthcare provider regarding your allergies and comprehensive medical history.

Your pain should subside within one to two weeks. It may be necessary to wear a compression garment around the areas that were liposuctioned. In certain instances, it may be necessary to insert a temporary drain into the incision to eliminate excess fluid or blood.

For a minimum of two weeks, you will be unable to sit or lie down on your buttocks. Therefore, it will be necessary to stand rather than sit and sleep on your stomach or side.

You may be able to sit for brief periods of time on a specially designed pillow that evens out pressure after several weeks. For approximately eight weeks, you will be unable to sit without your pillow. You may be able to engage in light exercises at this juncture. Nevertheless, it is advisable to refrain from engaging in strenuous activities or heavy lifting for a period of one month.

After your Brazilian butt lift procedure, your body should undergo a complete recovery within two to three months.

Recovery times may fluctuate due to the fact that each individual’s body is distinct. During your recovery, adhere to the guidance of your healthcare provider regarding the management of your pain and discomfort.

When Can I Go Back To Work?

You should be able to return to work within ten to fourteen days of your Brazilian Butt Lift procedure, depending on the type of work you do and how your body is healing. If your job involves mostly sitting, it is important to take precautions and avoid putting direct pressure on your newly enhanced buttocks. Using a standing desk or taking frequent breaks to stand and move around can help protect the fat grafts while still allowing you to work comfortably. For physically demanding jobs that require heavy lifting or prolonged sitting, you may need additional recovery time to prevent complications and ensure optimal results. Following your surgeon’s post-operative instructions, including proper sitting techniques, avoiding strenuous activity, and wearing compression garments as recommended, will help maintain the shape and longevity of your Brazilian Butt Lift while supporting a safe and smooth return to work.
